I'm fifteen years old and unhappy with the way I look. I've been considering cosmetic surgery and I know exactly what I want and how much it would cost and I'm aware of all of the risks. But my friends have convinced me not to make any final decisions until I'm eighteen years old because they say that my face hasn't finished changing completely.
But is it realistic to think that your face can really change that much in two years? When does your facial structure really finish growing and changing?

It probably won't be very noticeable, but if you got surgery, it could change as your facial structure would still be changing. Also, keep in mind, that with confidence comes beauty. The better you feel about yourself, the more attractive you come off to others. So try to keep your faith in yourself up. [ gracey001's advice column | Ask gracey001 A Question ]

Sure you can get plastic surgery now, but later in life you may think "goodness why did I do that?", in other words you may regret it because you did it when you were insecure about the way you looked. As you get older you may realize that you're fine just the way you are and that you wouldn't gain anything by changing yourself so drastically. If that isn't the conclusion that you reach and you still want to got through with it when you're 25, then sure go for it. It's a terrible thing to go through life with any kind of regret. You are only 15. This is a huge life decision. Take some more time to think about it. I know that 10 years is awhile, but plastic surgery isn't something you should be doing until at least age 25. In the meantime try to accept the way you look and realize that no matter how hard you try or how many plastic surgeries you go through you won't ever be what you see as perfect. Take one look at Michael Jackson and you'll see what I'm saying. You are perfect now. I'm sure you're really attractive and lots of people that know you think so too. Look up the lyrics to or listen to the song "What a Scene" by the Goo Goo Dolls. I don't know if you'll take it seriously or get anything out of it, but I hope that you do. Really, seriously, consider waiting before deciding to change yourself and do it for you, not for other people. I strongly suggest that you talk to a counselor before going through with anything. I really hope that you can learn to love yourself and the way that you look like I did. It took a long time and it was a really hard thing to do, but I'm really proud of myself for being able to do it. Don't give in to what you see around you and use the strength that I know you have to be able to say to yourself "I'm pretty just the way I am and nothing that I can see or hear can change that because I know that it's true." I'm not that attractive compared to society's standards, but really, who is? I'm beautiful because I'm different. If everybody looked the same the world would be pretty boring. A beautiful person is beautiful on the inside. Inner beauty radiates from you and whether you're that attractive physically or not, people will think that you are absolutely gorgeous. I wish you lots of patience, strength, and luck. Don't let the world get you down. Find happiness in the beauty around you and within you. I don't know exactly how many more changes your face may go through, but I do know that most surgeons will not work on a person unless they are 18. [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
