russian submarine sinking

a few years ago, i think it was 2004 a russian submarine was trapped underwater and the russians didnt want any help so all the people in the sub died...i need to find more information on this but dont know where to go...i need to find out how many people died, the exact year, and what countries tried to help russia before the submarine sank. Can someone give me a link to find it or tell me what i need to know? i need it for school...please answer asap...ill rate any answers i get. Thanks ♥
