Question Posted Tuesday February 28 2006, 11:00 pm

I have red bumps on my armpits and i think it is from Shaving. How do i get rid of these bumps and still be able to shave at the same time?

Any recommended razors, shaving cream, lotion, or anything that will help treat and prevent these bumps?

Red bumps can be a certain amount of things. One could be an irratation of the skin due to an allergy/dull blade. But I had the problem at one point and what worked for me it that after your done shaving make the water a little cool...it causes the skin not to get irratated, it sounds a little stupid but it has worked for people. So juss next time when you done just make the water cool, and wet under your arm and pat dry with a towel when you out. Also you should wait about 15minutes to put deodarent after a shower/bath, because it could also irratate the skin. Hope that helps a little bit!

More often than not, those bumps are the result of using a dull blade. Change it weekly if possible.

Make sure to ALWAYS shave right after a shower and not before. If your skin is sensitive, try using a cream with aloe or one that is not scented.

Also, there are aftershave products (TendSkin) that help reduce the redness and bumps.

Give your skin a few days to heal before you shave again. You're only going to irritate it further if you don't.

it might be your skins reaction to the shaving cream. so try a new one. it also could be that your razor is doing that. try using more shaving cream. it could be your deoderant though. so if you try a new shaving cream and that doesnt work try a new deoderant. it could be ittitating your skin. just a thought.
