kelkel97 answered Monday February 27 2006, 11:57 pm: that is kind of like what i am doing in my Writing class.use the propaganda technique of famous people.tell people for example,"jessica simpson uses this eyeliner and recommends.dont you want to be just like jessica simpson?buy yours today!" thats how most businesses attract people into purchasing their products.
if you have ever seen the proactive commercials, you've seen Vannessa williams, alicia keys, and jessica simpson.those bussinesses know that the majority of the population follows the lives of the celebrity world.thats why they use famous people to do commercials and infomercials because they know that there is a greater chance of their product being purchased.hope i helped [ kelkel97's advice column | Ask kelkel97 A Question ]

You have to think about what you would want in an eyeliner, and what kinds of qualities about it would make you want to purchase it. Some things that come to mind would be if a certain celebrity used it, if it stays on really well, what does it look like on, and what makes it different from other eyeliners. Think of your target market as well. Let's just say that its women between the ages of 16-35. This target group is pretty much heavily influenced by what Hollywood is looking like and wearing, sex appeal (let's admit it, everyone wants to look sexy), and the image they portray to society, along with following the trends. So when you think of all these things, you want a slogan that attracts your target market based on what the respond to. A slogan that tells them they would be beautiful and sexy if they used this product would probably be very effective, so would a celebrity endorsement type slogan. I'm sure you can think of some better ones, but here are a few I came up with...
'One thing [insert celebrity name here] always wears on the red carpet... her sexy eyes.'
(This one focuses on a popular celebrity. People always want to do what a celebrity is doing, which is why celebrity endorsements usually make for effective advertising.)
'Let your inner beauty be displayed... line the windows of your soul with [eyeliner brand].'
(The eyes are often called the windows to your soul, and women don't want to be just pretty on the inside, everyone wants outer beauty too, and this type of slogan taps into that.)
'People will look you in the eye... guaranteed.'
(This one takes on a more edgy feel, guaranteeing your eyes to get noticed. Its almost saying that wearing this eyeliner will get you noticed and get you attention. It can kind of be portrayed in a very confident manner, it would probably be effective as long is it was presented in a way that wearing the eyeliner gets you noticed in a good, classy way.)
'Hypnotize with striking eyes!'
(Catchy is always good as well, it makes people remember what you were advertising.)
