Another fitness question

Question Posted Wednesday February 15 2006, 12:08 am

15/F

I know everyone is probably getting annoyed with all these fitness questions, but I need help.

If I do the bysical(sp) for 1 hour everday or 3 times a week, watch the calories I eat, & just stop eating sugar foods, will that be good enough to lose weight?? I`m not going to eat any junk food or anything sugar & just stick to juice & water. Do you think this is a good start?

If you guys want to add something more, be my guest. =) Thanks

PS-I don`t really get bored doing the same thing over and over and over. So it really isnt much of a hassel of me liking the bike..

Let me steer you in the right direction here:

100 calorie packs are garbage
Water does nothing to flush fat away

Those are just 2 main points.

I've always found that the people I train enjoy the bicycle more than running or anything other form of cardiovascular exercise. Its very easy to just plop a magazine down and keep pedaling. Do I recommend you just cycle for a straight hour? No. I recommend you do HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) instead of 1 hour at a steady pace you break down your routine into these intervals. Here's an example of one interval- You warm up on the bike for 5 minutes and then you immediately pedal as fast as you possibly can for 30 seconds and then pedal at a slower tempo for 45 seconds. This is one interval...try and work yourself up to at least 10-15 intervals (Not as easy as it may sound.) Don't forget to throw in weight training exercises at least 3 days a week...weights and cardio go hand in hand.

Iam glad you mentioned your diet plan. This is what makes or breaks you. You mention having no sugar and sticking to water and juice. Guess what? juice is just pure sugar so stay away from it. Water doesn't "Flush fat away" as fat cannot be flushed away but only burned with metabolizing calories. People think fat flushes fat away because you tend to feel tighter when you drink more water...thats only because water serves as the transport to get the excess subcanteous salty fluids out from beneath your skin which make you appear bloated. I cannot stress to you how important water is, its like gold and is very rarely seen as the vital nutrient that it is. Good on staying away from snacks this INCLUDES 100 calorie packs, honestly do you really think Nabisco is capable of making anything healthy after making Oreos for so long? Eat Eat Eat...at least 4 times a day with plenty of lean protein and a variety of simple (things such as fruits) and complex (pasta, potatoes, oatmeal) carbs and healthy (polyunsaturated and monounsaturated) fats. As an added insurance policy you should get yourself a multivitamin, and they make 1 month supplies for women with the iron tablet separate from the vitamins for more concentrated use during their meunstral cycles.

All in all...it takes a little bit of knowledge and a whole lot of dedication, it isnt rocket science but it also isnt a cake walk. Make it a part of you because there is no greater gift to give yourself than the gift of health.

it sounds good. as long as you increase your exercise atlest once every other week. and dont watch calories.. they really dont mean much to you. studys show that people who watch calories accually gain more weight. but cutting sugary is awesome! thats the best thing you can do really. also try to cut down on fat mainly trans fat!

I'm 14 and i work out at the gym 3 times a week. Here is a good healthy way to eat. No sugary snacks. The 100 calorie packs are perfect. eat more meat and no brad or starches at dinner time. it will help. i promise. Im following this paln and in just a week of working out and eating right, i lost 4 pounds. And if you have treadmil, those are proven to actually give better results than the bike because it really gets your heart pumpin and you sweating which helps you to lose weight. i have the same problem. You should also be drinking 6-8 glases of water a day. it helps to flush unwanted fat. remember it is up to you to get rid of the "fat" cells. Unless you do, they will stay forever. so eat right, work out if you can, and drink plenty of water. you will lose the weight in no time!

Well, if you want to really look better, you're gonna have to do more than just the bike. Like for instance, sit ups, crunches, running, light weight resistance, things of that sort. The juice probably isn't a good way to go; it's loaded with sugar and carbs. Plain water and any type of fitness water is the best. Well, I happen to know a good bit about fitness seeing as how I powerlift, play football, and lost 50 pounds last year, so if you have anymore questions, just ask me. I hope I helped. Friendly advice from Burnie Mac.
