My Grandma's Sick and I think My uncle wants to kill or cont

Question Posted Thursday February 2 2006, 7:20 pm

I can't turn to anyone else but my grandma got a stroke and ever since my uncle thinks he is the boss. He told me today he as putting her in a home and he did (I objected) and now I can't find one of her tablets that she needs. She hasn't even has her night tablet and I'm scared he's trying to kill her. I also saw on a piece of paper that he wrote "Do take out" on an account that is my grandma's and unfortunately his! I'm so scared...Please help me... and resonable advice please!

Well what I would do first is go and ask your uncle what is going on. If he does not give you a good answer then ask your parents for help on what he is doing. If it getting to bad and you honestly think he is trying to kill her then call the police immediatly
Hope that helps

I really would tell the police. Let them know what you think and they'll take it from there. They will listen to you just say everything that you posted here.

It sounds to me as if your grandma gave your uncle her power of attorney.

In other words, she trusted him to take care of her if she should ever be unable to do it herself.

I know it is not easy having to put a loved one in a nursing home. However, if none of her other relatives are willing to take on her care then he may not have had a choice.

Taking care of someone who needs a lot of care is not easy to do. I know you would like to do it, but it is a 24/7 job. She needs the care you would give a baby and that is hard for most people with families to do.

I am sure the nursing home will take good care of her. They will be in contact with her doctors and will see that she gets her medications and all that.

I really don't think your Uncle is treating her badly. Since she has had a stroke, her meds have probably changed. Some that she took before may not be good for her to take now, etc.

Visit her when you can. It is very possible she can go home if she recovers enough to take care of herself. Don't give up hope that it could happen. :)
