AIM problem!
Hey all i have AIM 5.9... Well the other day i was sitting here and everything was fine working great then all of a sudden my buddylist names disappear but the little notebooks/cellphone icons were still showing.. so it turns out i had to change my font from century gothic to tahome so i could see. well that was problem one.
Problem two now whenever my friends talk to me it looks like this:
Me: Hey whats up?
Friend:
Me: what?
Friend:
and so on its reallly annoying and i dont know how to fix it! so if someone could pleeeeeease help me id luv you forever! thanks i rate 5s

uninstall it and then reinstall a newer version of AIM!

OMIGOSH this exact thing happened to me except everyone got mad at me and blocked me, but You have to change your font color. Some people cant read your font... You can sure see it but it always comes out different on your buddys computer... so i would change it to a white backgound and a sort of dark colored font...

Yeah my aim goes like that all the time... But sometimes theres diffrent reasons for it. One time it was because of the weather. Another time was because my internet company was trying to fix somthing that was wrong that everyone who had charter, Had there internet down. Then there was other times when i had to re download it.
So If its because of the weather (gloomy,raining,lightning) Then shut your computer down for the remainder of the day. And then the next day. Turn it back on and everything should be working. You should try calling your internet company, See if its the internet. Then If all else fails. Just re-download it. All of those seemed to work for me and my AIM is working better than ever.

Try uninstalling and then reinstalling your AIM on your computer. You could and probably do have a virus of some sort or such that is messing up your AIM. Check out this page: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) - you can download a program that will fix your AIM and get rid of any viruses that your computer has been affected with. I had the same problem a couple of months ago.
If you have an anti-virus program on your computer, try running a scan through your computer first before attempting what I mentioned above.

Sometimes that happens to me. Maybe they have their font color the same as the background screen. Asks them to change it or change the background color.

i dont know if this will work but i would try highlighting what they say.
