FunnyCide answered Saturday January 28 2006, 12:34 am: Define "boyfriend."
I know girls who started having "boyfriends" at ten and eleven (which I think... whoa. Too young!) and girls who get their first boyfriend between twelve and thirteen, and girls who are even older, fifteen, sixteen.
I was almost fourteen when I got my first boyfriend. It was two months and one day until my fourteenth birthday when my boyfriend asked me to be his girlfriend.
Yes, I did desire affection from the opposite sex when I was younger than that, but I was not ready for it - and the boys weren't ready for me. Literally. Boys have a lower maturity rate, usually, than do girls. I am fairly mature for my age, so when paired with a sixteen year old male of "normal" maturity, he and I are on the same maturity level.
I think the youngest should be about twelve. You're never too old for a first boyfriend. Remember that -- it doesn't matter how old your friend Shirly was, or how old Ashley was, or how old Meaghan was -- this is about you. Don't rush it and mess it up; you'll regret it. :)

unreachable answered Saturday January 28 2006, 12:14 am: It depends on the level of maturity and how serious the person wants to be. I think that around 14 is a good age to have your first. I know my friends who have "dated" from the ages 9-12 realize how immature their relationship was, and don't consider it a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship since they were younger at the time and weren't really serious about it. advice-anyone answered Saturday January 28 2006, 12:03 am: Each person matures at a different age/stage. It all depends on the person. However, you don't want to be introduced to intamacy at too young of an age not only will be you exiting childhood way too early but once your 'innoscence' is gone you can't get it back. You have to be an independant individual before you can take on any other roles in society. Personally I think that fourteen is ideal for having a boyfriend. Statistically, adolescents begin have boyfriends anywhere from ages 8-17, wide variety. Usually the ones who have boyfriends earlier (8-13) tend not to be really serious, just curious. BYE!
