I need to stop thinking about this

Question Posted Thursday January 26 2006, 7:08 am

what do you do when something is annoying the heck out of you, when you can't get something out of your mind, when you keep going back and thinking about the same thing all the time without realizing it til it's too late. Why can't I just stop? I don't want to think about this.

I feel there's something wrong with me.

maybe if you told me what the problem was I could give you an anwser to help you solve. so there would be no problem and nothing to avoid.

I have the exact same problem, and it tends to cause depression. The trick is to distract yourself. If you find yourself thinking about it, immediately change the subject in your head. Call a friend, watch tv, do any hobbies you have (whether it's playing an instrument or painting, writing poetry helps me...) and just completely avoid the thoughts altogether. Find music that makes you think about life's better aspects and just listen to it until you can't stand it. Music can be a huge driving force for change. I did that two years ago and it completely changed the way I thought. Before I figured out how to do this, I was suicidal and never happy. I mean sometimes I'll get like that, but it's only for a few hours. It was constant before. If you need anything else, go to my page and find my AIM screenname, and you can feel free to IM me if you have AIM.

Such thoughts whatever they are could lead to depression and anxiety and we do not want that to happen to a person who I suspect may be young,
that is for the older who generally have things to sought out but that's another story,
You might try to satisfy yourself in ridding these thoughts is by doing things to occupy your mind and thoughts, something like concentrating fully in cleaning your room and doing other tasks which you normally hate to do, then give yourself a pat on the back.
You must have a lot of good things about yourself, focus on them when your annoyance rears its head.

Ther's noting wrong with you. Just just make a little thing much bigger then it is. It might not be to late. If you have to tell someone something like that go and tell them and maybe that will help.
good luck

No there is nothing wrong with you it is perfectly normal to feel like something is always annoying you because if you were never annoyed with something you wouldn't have problems and people always have problems
