Jogging is better than running for losing weight. With that said, it is better to go as long as you can safely go. Your legs will burn, your breath will get short, and you will get thirsty. Bring water and drink plenty of it, especially in hotter climates. I have seen over 40 men in the past year suffer heat exhaustion, heat cramps, and mild to severe heat stroke, from dehydration. You MUST maintain your hydration so drink water, even when you're NOT thirsty, if you're doing any outside work. So remember to push yourself, drink plenty of water, and you will lose weight, gain endurance, and feel great physically and mentally.

If you run, like sprints, it would be best to take breaks, if u jog, the longer the better.

It's better to take short breaks to catch your breath and get some water. If you constantly keep running without non stopping you might dehydrate and that's not good.
