Question Posted Thursday January 19 2006, 10:26 pm

okay so sorry in advance if this is just kind of long. and thanks for taking the time to read it. :). okay so i have a best friend lets call him jack. So i have known jack for a veryy long time and im really good friends with him.And i guess he got into a fight with one of his good friends cause i guess his friend is like always ditching him to hang out with his gf. and jack dosnt like his friends gf in the first place. So i guess jack was really upset and all and i was talking to him and he said that he didnt see any point in living anymore. and he said he hoped he died before his birthday. I talked to him about it and everything and now he says he's okay but im still kind of worried.. any tips on what i should do and if i should still be worried... Thanks so much, I appreciate it greatly.

ok, i think what you need to do, is tell him that you are worried about him and you care about him. it might sound kindof gay but if he was seriously thinking about suicide, he wont see it that way. tell him that you are there for him if he needs to talk things over with somebody. you might want to still be a little caoutious, like maby keep a eye open for days where he seems sad and/or upset. you might also maby want to tell a school councelar about it if you are seriously concearned about him. he/she will probly have a talk with them about it without telling him who told them. hope i helped ;)

Ok, first off, do talk to an adult or a proffesional of some kind about his behavior. Trust me on that one. My friend showed signs that she was a little off, and she went missing a little while later because she had a breakdown. My friends and I were kicking ourselves for not having talked to someone to stop it.

As for doing something yourself, just be as good a friend as you can possibly be. Just show him how much you care, and how important he is to you. Just one person can make all the world to someone. And stay vigilant.

I hope he feels better =/

Anytime anyone says something like that it should be taken seriously.

If he still seems to be in a funk don't hesitate ro let an adult know about it.

Here is a web site that will tell you more about how to deal with a friend who makes comments like this. :)
