Body image means a lot to most girls around adolesence, what are some exercises that can tone legs, stomach, and build muscle on arms?
Also, could there be a problem with self confidence/ selfesteem instead?

During adolesence hormones are going crazy and emotions can be tough to deal with. No one has the perfect body and there is no such thing as one. Now you mention your legs, stomach and arms. Those arent the only muscles in your body. Did you know that if you were to work your back that your biceps would take shape simply because it serves as a secondary muscle group to the primary back? What about your chest, your calves, your shoulders? Do you REALLY want a 6 pack and have no shoulders or back or anything else to go along with it? Your body functions as a whole unit and must be worked as if it is a whole unit. Your biceps and your abs will happen on their own if you focus hard on doing exercises that involve the entire body head to toe- Look up exercises such as Squats and Deadlifts and Chin-ups. My arms have grown way more from doing 5 sets of chin-ups during a back workout than 12 sets of bicep curls. Trust me you cannot pick and choose what you want to look good, you must train your body as a unit. Think of all the benefits of this- Improved mood, better sleep, better self-esteem and life choices and of course- a better looking you. Get down and dirty and sweat and lift and run because believe me exercise and nutrition can take you places and make you learn things about yourself you never thought possible if YOU let it. Be strong. [ MikeCFT's advice column | Ask MikeCFT A Question ]
