Asperger syndrome is a mild condition on the autistic spectrum. People with aspergers usually have difficulty with social situations. Often a people with aspergers have a subject that they are very interested in and know a lot about (I used to know someone who I think had it that could talk at length about cockroaches). People with aspergers often have poor motor skills, making it difficult for them to play sports. Some people with aspergers get very anxious about things that others would just shrug off.

As for a prognosis, it's not something that can be cured. However aspergers isn't a major hinderance. You'll probably be able to function in society just as well as a person who doesn't have it. Some very successful people are suspected of having aspergers (a lot of people think einstein had it).

That's all I can pull off the top of my head at the moment. If you've got any more questions then don't hesitate to ask me.

It's always a good idea to start with Google.

Unfortunately the Google Link function seems to have a problem with apostrophes, so just search for "Asperger's Syndrome" (and use the quotation marks).

To put it simply, Asperger's Syndrome can be considered to be related to autism, but is much milder. It has varying symptoms and severity, and the cause is still unknown. Many highly successful people have Asperger's, by the way; I don't know if it has been confirmed, but Bill Gates is often cited as an example. Certainly it's possible to lead a happy, succesful life with Asperger's.

Basically, Asperger's Syndrome is associated with difficulty in understanding social cues. It's a stereotype to call it a "geek disease", but there's some accuracy to it. Asperger's has been associated with high intelligence. There are treatments which can help.

Google will lead you to much more information. Good luck!
