HOPLESSxROMNTC answered Wednesday January 11 2006, 12:00 am: Neither. All teenagers have different personalitys but no one should be always depressed. Thats not right. You should tell someone like a counsler at your school and get some help. Dont you want to be happy? Good luck!

Adolescence is a time of great highs and lows, almost bipolar, you are like to feel on top of the world one day and deeply unhappy the next. In part it's because of the hormones and in part because of all the changes in your life when you get that age. If you're depressed all the time, like for more than a month or so, you should probably see a doctor or therapist about it because that is not normal. But it is normal to be depressed some of the time, especially when you're a teenager. [ muffinbutt's advice column | Ask muffinbutt A Question ]

himalayanlotus2003 answered Sunday January 8 2006, 3:11 am: how much i could help you , i don't know but still i will try my best. in the age of teen, our expeections about anything will be high, and expectation is something that we will create ourself. if there is expectation, many times it won't fit into reality. so sometimes depression also possible. because of your attachment towards that. unless you truely unveil yourself to your core identity, happieness , sorrow will be an accidental process. you will not have control over it. because you can not control external things all the time. but if you learn how to reveal inward, you can reach your blissfulness all the time. that something which is always in your contol. the path of yoga which helps everybody in this process, to revial themselves, because it does not require any belief system or anything so. it is a natural thing that is all, you need not worry about it. but at the time, look at yourself, which will help you lot to maintain your situation and your relationship. a depressed way or happy way.only if you truely happy you can reach people . nobody want to be with people even if they are not happy in what they do. does it mean you have to satisfy every body. no. not at all. i am not talking about your external action. but how ever you in external, if you arenot happy within you , where ever you, what else you can make out of you. because afterall everything is just an expresion of who you are. may be all the things will not be as you expected. but still you can make your life happiest and gratituedly . then happieness is a natural process. hope i answered you to some extend. if you want to know more deteils contact me [ himalayanlotus2003's advice column | Ask himalayanlotus2003 A Question ]

I know a lot of teenagers who are depressed a lot. I was at a lot of points. Your hormones are raging and that causes a lot of mood swings and confusion which can be really frustrating. Not to mention, other teenagers being stupid and immature don't make it that much better, so it doesn't help to be immersed in a negative environment constantly. I don't know for certain weather or not teens are depressed MOST of the time, but I think with all the life changes going on it is possible.
You can be depressed for a couple of weeks, snap out of it and be okay for a while. Maybe you will get depressed again a couple of months later. This is not a big problem.
The time when depression becomes something you need to be treated for is when you fall into a major funk that lasts for months, and you just cannot snap out of it.
