theymos answered Wednesday December 20 2006, 2:52 pm:
only windows media player can play .wmv in a browser. QT can only play .mov and some audio formats in a browser. To make QT the default for all the files it supports, go to QT preferences(right click Q logo in lower right); then browser tab and make sure "play movies automatically" is checked. Then go to the "file types" tab, and make sure everything is checked. QT will now play all the files it supports.
