Changing?
Hello (again.) My name is Alex; I'm a female; I'm 13.
Well.. I have this friend, I've known her since the 6th grade. We've been good friends, but then our friendship faded away, then next year (7th grade) Our friendship started to come back. So we started to talk & stuff. Now we are in the 8th grade & I got to know her a bit better then the other years. Now, she goes to this thing, so called 'The Rec' It's a dance anyone could go to on Fridays. Well she has gone there every Friday, when I say every Friday, I mean EVERY Friday! She has been to the rec & met new people. So she met this kid, we'll call him "Blake" she has liked this kid for quite a while, I mean, she just met this kid & now she has a crush on him! It's weird, but love is love. Anyways, all she has been talking about at the lunch table is Blake, Blake, Blake! It gets annoying after a while. Her main reason she goes to the rec is to see him & now she is changing! She told me that Blake likes either punk;rock; or skater girls, so she is changing! She bought these skater shoes, painted her nails black, getting baggy, chain pants, & everything! I don't know how to talk to her about this, because it seems like she has anger problems & gets mad too easily. I want to tell her she shouldn't change for Blake or anyone. I tried several times, but she won't listen, she would sign off on me! I dont know what to do to stop her from changing for a guy or anyone else. She talks to Blake on the phone & when they're finished talking, she starts crying, he isn't worth her tears & I dont want my friend changing or crying or getting hurt because of a guy that she met, & that isn't even her boyfriend! Please help!

Wow, I guess that's the thang nowadays, being punk and changing for one person that doesn't care about you. I'm gonna get a little off track but don't worry, I'll come back.
Like one of my best friend's Ashley, she is punk. But she wasn't always. About 2 years ago she wasn't. ((Elementry)) Well, last year was our first year at a new school, and where we live, whenever you go to your middle school, people from alot of different places come together into one. About October she met this guy named Wiley, he was a hardcore punk rocker. And Ashley is such an outgoing person she says hey to everyone she's so sweet. Anyway, she started to like him, and change like your friend. Except the only difference is, she never cried over him, atleast that I know of and she didn't change her apperence that much. Probably because her mom wouldn't let her,...she's rich and all so she's still gotta little prepness to her. But she's not a bad person at all.
Now about your friend. I don't get why she crys over him, probably as you do too. Before I read threw this all, I was going to say "Oh well just talk to her on the computer." But you got a point, she'll just block you or sign off. So, you're going to have to do this in person. But what I think is, you should go to "The Rec" with her one Friday, ((Or not, just watch her if you're more sneaky or spy-like but I wouldn't inforce that approach.)) And check this guy "Blake" out. I would say something more, but I can't do anything else unless you do that. I'm extremely sorry if I didn't help at all ((Which I think I didn't but you're situation is in desprete need of an answer.))
But don't get me wrong. Wiley is really funny and cool. But he can take the punk thing too far sometimes. Changing your apperance isn't everything. Guys change alot of things. And for the getting mad real easy, has she always been like that? Or is that recent? Let me know! I'm sure to help you as much as I possibly can!!!!
