Unfitting shoes.
Friction [i.e. Using a shovel all day without gloves can cause blisters on the palms of hands.]
Scalds or burns.
Severe sunburn.
Allergic reaction to irritants.

2) they might come, say if you have one onyour hand, from hitting your hand, etc.
