I have had my heart set on adopting a child for years even though I plan to have my own. My spouse on the other hand... doesnt quite agree. I told him why I wanted to and then he gave in to the idea but he absolutely refused to adopt a boy because he "wants his boy to be his own." I told him over and over that I would like him to come with me to the adoption agency so we could fall in love with a child any young age, race, or sex and he said no. He does not want a boy or a child that is not a newborn. I dont want to comprimise my life long plans.
Additional info, added Monday December 5 2005, 6:31 pm: I do not want to break up with my fiance over something like this I would just like for us to come to a point of agreeance and for him to understand. It really means a lot to me and Ive never thought of having it any other way.. Want to answer more questions in the Relationships category? Tell him that he needs to understand that your the one giving him his children... I think it is a wonderful thing to do to adopt a child. Hopefully he will come a long with you! Good luck. I know. I am just 13 but maybe I could help! :)
Maybe you should have a LONG talk with him. Maybe suggest that you guys could adopt a baby boy and then have children thats yours. But what if the child that you have is a girl? Then thats when he will have a boy to help raise. But just remember to not leave the baby *boy* out (in your Fiance's case anyway!) Hope thingz go good!! :)
