Question Posted Sunday November 27 2005, 8:19 pm

I never thought I'd have to ask this sort of question. My best friend has always been my hero and my sorce of joy. And now all of a sudden she's hanging out with another one of my friends who treats her like crap. She cracks and disses on her right in front of my best friend and it hurts her feelings.
Every time I try to say something when we're w/ the other girl, she's like, that's stupid, or why would you say that and almost kinda ignores me. She rolls her eyes at me know, and she's never done that unless she would follow it with a laugh. It hurts cuz I truely love my best friend. Why do you think she's pulling away from me? We know everything about each other and every worry. It hurts that now she's my main worry and she might have a new best friend.

Best friends
or
"Best friends"???

Well, I was in the same position not too long ago, I'm not goning to mention any names, but one of my close friends was in the same situation as your friend, but anyways...
What I think you shoudl do; Is sit your friend down and talk to her about your feelings, even if she may not want to hear it, make sure she knows you care about her, and don't want her to get hurt.
It seems like your friend is just trying to impress the other girl. Is there something about the other girl that your friend has always envied?
You should also try talking to the other girl, maybe she isn't so bad... She might just seem mean. But, if she treats your friend like crap, maybe not...
If I were you, I would just keep trying to get your friend to understand that you are only trying to help her and, keep her feelings from being hurt.

well, first off, you are allowed to have more than one best friend!..

sometimes you just need space. talk to her. Ask her whats going on & how she feels. she might just be feeling a little smothered or want something new. not saying that you are bad or anything of course!!! I am just saying that sometimes people just want to take some space for a little while. or try something new. you can still be best friends, & you are allowed to have more than one best friend!..

I hope I could help. Im fairly new to this! <3
