I'm like the famous Violet from Willy Wonka

Question Posted Sunday November 27 2005, 4:06 pm

First off I would like to say sorry for posting this more than once, but I need advice again. I think I am a compulsive eater. I can't stop. All I think about while I am eating something, is what else I could be eating. I also do not exersize. I am too lazy and I have no motivation whatsoever. What should I do? Does anyone have any websites? Or tips?

I weigh 225. In the past month I have gained like 20. And that is not healthy. What should I do? I need serious help here. My doctor doesn't want to put me on a serious diet.

Sounds like me..I eat nonstop. But I think the reason I eat all the time, is that I'm bored. Boredom does affect your eating, because sometimes you'll eat, just for something to do. That's how it is for me sometimes. So my advice is to get active. I know you don't have the motivation to, but find something fun. Get some friends together and do exercises or just simply take a walk around the neighborhood every once in awhile. It's SOMETHING TO DO. Believe me, it will stop you from over-eating if you're actually doing something with your time. This way, you will be away from food, and won't have access to it. And you won't even be thinking about it if you are having fun. "Time flies when you're having fun", right? So if time flies, then you'll be eating normally, and there won't be time to over eat! ;)

Also, if you're doctor says that you shouldn't be on a serious diet, then you shouldn't. He/she knows what their talking about :)

I wonder if you are eating to mask something else that is going on? How's work/school? Family? Love life? Often times people overeat for the same reasons they drink too much, or shop until they are broke or even do drugs... its a way of making them feel numb to whatever else is going on. If that is the case, admitting whatever it is to yourself is the first step. There is I think overeaters anonymous, if you google or check your yellow pages to find out. If its that you are just soooo hungry... try drinking more water, sometimes people are more thirsty than they are hungry and don't know it. Also, is there a chance you could be pregnant?
Good luck and keep me posted.

Hello.

I am 13/f and I weigh 215lbs. I am 5'71/2 and I do eat alot. It sorta depends on how tall you are. If your short and 13 then you will grow. Just try to slow down on eating. Thats what the doctor told me!!
