Question Posted Wednesday November 16 2005, 8:50 pm
my hair falls out in the shower alot when i brush it and even when i just put my fingers through it...it used to be pretty thick and it has thinned out ALOT! my mom says it from straightening my hair (i only straighten it 2-3 times a week) and my friends says its from stress from high skool! i really want to fix this problem which one or what is the problem?

This happens to a lot of teens. It is more than like;ly a combination of stress and straightening.
I would stop straightening your hair for a little while and treat it to some intensive conditioning treatments, like hot oil, for a few weekd. You can also get vitamin supplements that increase strength and shine.
Also try not to worry about it too much (I know it's hard) but the more worried you are, the more stressed you get, the more your hair falls out!

You can try putting some hair cream with alot of vitamins on it when you get out of the shower and buy medicated shAmpoo for "dry, or unhealthy hair". Also when you get out of the shower, brush it with a comb and never ever tug at it, start brushing lightly, and working your way brushing it down from the bottom, and then work your way up. Just try being a little bit "nicer" to your hair lol mine used to do the same thing and then i started being a bit more gentle with it and it got better! Hope i help!
