24.

dl/ds = 1 / 2[s^2 + 160s + 10000]^0.5 * (2s + 160)= (s + 80) / [s^2 + 160s + 10000]^0.5
ds/dl = [s^2 + 160s + 10000]^0.5 / (s + 80)

25.

dl/dt = -2m/s

26.

Ds/dt = ds/dl * dl/dt= [s^2 + 160s + 10000]^0.5 / (s + 80) * 2= 2[s^2 + 160s + 10000]^0.5 / (s + 80)

27.

Ds/dt = 2[{20}^2 + 160{20} + 10000]^0.5 / ({20} + 80)= 2.33 m/s (3 s.f.)

28.

2 2/3 m/s

29.

cannot be done cause the length is longer than 100 m.
