My AIM hasn't been working for 2 days. When I click on the little AIM guy to sign on, nothing happens for about 10 seconds, then the sign on screen flashes on the screen for like a half second and then goes away. I don't think it's a virus on my computer, because I already scanned it, and it does the same thing on my parent's computer which I don't use very often. Is this happening to anyone else? What should I do? I was considering deleting it, and downloading the newer version. Would that fix it? Please help. Thank you!!
xo_jenna_respects_ox answered Tuesday November 8 2005, 5:55 pm: Just right click on the little guy, click sign on, and if that doesn't work, just delete it and download it again like you said. Hope i helped.
Go there, and just click "DOWNLOAD". It's 100% FREE. It downloads in SECONDS, AND it does NOT download ANY other crap with it, ya know??
Once it's downloaded, save it to your Desktop (just so it's easy to find), and run the program. It will kick you off AIM (for about 10-14 seconds), while it scans AIM for this virus.
Once deleted, you can sign right back on. It's SPECIFICALLY an **AIM** virus detector; meant to detect EVERY one!! I've used it before, and it always fixed my problem. [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]

It simply means your computer is slow in the transition from logging in to the sign on part. Good luck! [ TRAGiCxWH0REx3's advice column | Ask TRAGiCxWH0REx3 A Question ]
Karen answered Monday November 7 2005, 9:41 pm: Downloading and upgrading your AOL instant messenger would fix this. I had this problem also and once I upgraded my AIM, it worked and the problem went away. [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
