I need to save a one page essay to a floppy disk, and I'm at a loss on how to do it. I know my computer has a floppy drive, and I have an empty floppy right next to me. If I bring the essay up, what do I need to do to make it save to a floppy? Also, which, side goes into the drive? The one with the circle or the blank?
Your help is appreciated!

The way you put it in is the side with the blank color you put it in with that side showing. so the circle is on the bottom. Then in your progrma with your essay you go to the top and click file then save not save as just save. It should have a picture of a floppy beside or something. Then you see a screen and you will write what you wnat to title it so you can find it. To find it again when you get to school or something you go to file and open. You click the arrow down and look at the options. Click 3 and 1/2 floppy. Then you will see your titled file and then click it and press the open thing. 1 open up "my computer"
2 go to floppy disk 3 1/2
3 drag the essay into the folder
another way is
1 open up the essay
2 go file-save as
3 press the arrow button
4 go to my computer and then/or floppy drive
5 press save [ caden's advice column | Ask caden A Question ]

- go to file
- click "save as"
- scroll down on the options "A" dive

the side with the hole faces the floor as you put in the floppy and the bit that you can move side to side goes facing up.
it should have a little arrow on the front showing which way to insert it.

SweetxxIntoxication answered Sunday October 23 2005, 5:16 pm: hi.
put the floppy disk into the drive, now..it goes in a certain way too, there is an arrow that points in what way to put it in.
when its in, open the essay and go to "file" then "save as" then go to the drop down menu at the top and go to "31/2 floppy (A:)", then name the essay, click "save" and it will take a few seconds, by your floppy disk drive there should be a light, when the light goes out, or you'll just be able to tell by the noise your computer will make... you can take the disk out by pressing the button by the drive (do not pull out the disk before then)
i would also save it to your documents to, to be safe.
when you finish, see if it opens, but putting the disk in, going to "file" "open" "3 1/2 floppy" then open your file..if it isnt there, try again..=] [ SweetxxIntoxication's advice column | Ask SweetxxIntoxication A Question ]
wrongnstillwrite answered Sunday October 23 2005, 5:12 pm: To save something to the floppy, you click "save as" and then scroll down to "3 1/2 floppy A". Then you click "save" and wala! The side with the circle goes in facing the floor leaving the other side facing up. Hope this helps. :) [ wrongnstillwrite's advice column | Ask wrongnstillwrite A Question ]
