Can you drive a 3.5 ton truck on a normal driving licence

to answer another wrong comment. A LOT of larger SUV's and trucks weigh more than 1 ton. I know my suburban does and my F-350. I do not have a commercial license. as far as the weight goes your okay, in california that is

You should be able to (ultimately it depends on the state). On my "regular" Florida license, it says "26,000 lbs/non-commercial" which is 14 tons!

Depends on what state you live in. In NY a regular, full (Class D) license enables you to drive any vehicle with a gross weight of 26,000 lbs or less and tow anything with a gross weight of 10,000 lbs or less. Iam sure you will be able to drive a van.

no you can not drive anything over 1 ton without a commercial license, and depends what the truck has on it (air brakes.. etc) you would need at least a B class license
