Question Posted Wednesday October 19 2005, 7:45 pm
How long have you been doing it? It's really weird but i've always thought about it alot. like all the time. but i never did it. then the past like 2 weeks i started and i look forward to coming home from school just so i can cut more. i can't go a day without it.
Who knows? well alot of people have seen the marks on my arm so basically everyone. and i talk to my friends about it but they dont really help much.
Why do you feel that you do it? i don't even know why. i just love it so much in a sickly way, it's a way to relieve pain and deal with my emotions.
thanks for the advice. i hope this helps you understand my situation so you can help me further.

What I did, was spoke to someone at school about it. I spoke to a teacher I liked, and she helped me get counselling.
If you don't think you can do that, speak to a teacher, then what about a relative?
It doesn't have to be someone really close, so it could be an aunt or uncle or whatever.
Do you live in England or America? If you live in England I know some brilliant phone lines and websites that really really help. If not then I can get you some. I'll find you a website where you can talk to people that do the same thing, or did the same thing and are trying to stop or have stopped.
It's always better to talk to someone that's been through it because they understand why you do it.
I know it's very hard, but you have to seriously think about giving up. You say you do it to relieve pain and deal with situations, but is there not something else you could do?
How about writing in a diary? Or punching a pillow everytime you feel like doing it.
Start a "stop-cutting" diary. Write down when you cut and why you did it. Then you can look back and see how silly you're being and how this could affect your life. Then congratulate yourself everytime you want to do it and don't do it, count the day and after a month buy yourself something a treat for not doing it!
If you want those websites or numbers let me know where you're from and i'll help you some more.
I hope I helped.
