I am 5'1" & I weigh around 139 to 143 lbs. I am not happy with this at all..I am a lil pudgy around the middle and want to loose this! I have tried and tried with the crunches everynight but that hasn't seem to help so now I am at a loss of what to do next! =[ One of my friends can loose 10 lbs in a week by just drinking water...maybe I can try this! If you have any suggestions then PLEASE let me know ASAP!!
If you want to lose weight, you have to be committed to a diet and exercise plan. This means eating healthy things you can cook at home, vegetables, fish, eating fruits and committing to a specific exercise plan.
If you want to lose the fat in your stomach area, you can go for a walk or a run every single day. If you are unable to run, you can build up to it by going for a mile or two walk and eventually jogging for the same amount. You also have to build on your accomplishments. If you walk a mile one day, walk one more mile the next. Work out at LEAST 3 times a week. Cardio is important when you want to lose fat.

Generally, if you are going to try to lose weight, you go a pound or two a week. It's healthier, and the diet is much easier to keep. All you do is just cut calories. Like if you eat 6,000, eat 2,000 a day. Then exercise, and the results will come.
If it's an emergency such as a picture coming up, go ahead and try the 7 day fast. But you want to spread a goal (For you, probably 40 pounds) over a course of around 3-6 months. [ sbloemeke's advice column | Ask sbloemeke A Question ]
XxRockon answered Monday October 17 2005, 6:02 pm: i think the water thing isn't the best idea..its not healthy for your body to survive off of water..try some cardio..like running everday or..biking around at a decent speed..and then add crunches to it too to help tone. And just you know, eat healthy..and a fwe pounds should be gone in no time :) don't over do it though. [ XxRockon's advice column | Ask XxRockon A Question ]
ShortLitLBlondie answered Monday October 17 2005, 5:59 pm: if you want to loose weight you should really try to eat healthier and by drinking water the weight you loose will come right back once you eat again so dont try it. Also try other exersizes. [ ShortLitLBlondie's advice column | Ask ShortLitLBlondie A Question ]
Advicelady6798 answered Monday October 17 2005, 5:58 pm: If you eat and then not exercise then you wont lose any weight so the key is to exercise more than your eating. I suggest only eating 10 small meals a day or 3 big meals a day. Breakfast, Luch, and dinner. If you snack in between that does not help at all. Mostly what you have is water weight so if you drink water and eat then you will lose weight. That means only eating like 1 or none candy or chocolate a day. I suggest not drinking any pop. If your like me and hooked on it like crazy then only drink 1 can a day. Walking will help more than anything. Just walk 10 minutes a day and then gradually increasing each week. Teza answered Monday October 17 2005, 5:50 pm: Drinking water for a week is not healthy at all! Do not do that. You can loose strenght and get really unhealthy. There are a lot of easier and better ways to loose weight. Doing crunches every night will not help. You have to change your eating diet and exercise a lot more. I know that you don't want to hear it, but if you really want to loose weight, that's how you do it. By eating healthy. Buying foods that say fat free, sugar free aren't that healthy. They have other fats so make sure you read the labels. If you plan out your eating and exercise schedule and if you stick to it, you will loose weight pretty fast. People say it's so hard, but it's not. The reason that it is hard for them is because they don't dedicate and try to stick to the plan. You can talk to your mom about going to a nutritionist and getting their opinion on what foods you need to stop eating and what's good for your body. Go to [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) and it will tell you all exercises for each part of your body. Good luck! [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
BurnieMac answered Monday October 17 2005, 5:47 pm: I have lost a bunch of weight before, almost 60 pounds to be exact. The key is to watch what you eat and exercise. Crunches alone won't do it. All they do is help for toning your abs and strenghthening them. Running, swimming, and a little weight lifting is the best way to get rid of that extra "pudge". If you stick to a good exercise program and watch what you eat, then it will come off, and don't do crunches every night, that doesn't necessarily help a whole lot. Well, I hope I gave you some good ideas. Good luck to you. Peace out from Burnie Mac. [ BurnieMac's advice column | Ask BurnieMac A Question ]
