i got my belly button peirced like 2 months a week ago, and after 4-6 weeks you can change the ring, so i changed mine. but the banana bar i put in has like a little lift kind of on the bottom and so i changed back to my old ring, but its sore, only a little bit though, not like hugely sore. i dont know if its infected .. its not pusing or anything its just red and a little sore. i dont know how to tell if its infected or prevent it from getting infected. What do i do if it is infected? any special cleaning or product thing??
and someone told me that if it gets bad enough it will just fall out?! is that true .. they also said if that happens u wont be able to have kids later in life ... :-/ .. is that true too?
Can Anyone Help PLEASE!! i dont want to have to take it out ..

You should put the old one back in and leave it. It's only infected if you can't touch it without yelling in pain, and it will start to pus. So don't pull on it. and it will NOT fall out or cause you to not have kids....whoever told you that needs to check their information....
sheerblonde1022 answered Thursday October 13 2005, 7:21 pm: okay hun! i've had my bellybutton pierced from 2 years now. ok if its not pussing or anything then it dosen't sound liek it's infected. 2 months was a little soon for you to change it so it wasn't healed all the way and is just a little sore. nothing to worry about. but to prevent infection you can make or buy this really great stuff called sea salt!! you can get it at piercing places(there its called H20 sea salt spray) or just make it and it cost around $12!! to make it all you do is get a 12oz. bottle of spring water and sea salt (from your local grocery store) and mix it together in the bottle and squirt it on everytime it hurts and its great because it never dries it out or anything!! but the problem is with making it is you have to re-make it every 5 days or so because its not sterile. hope i helped!! It takes different amounts of time depending on where your piercing is. Changing the bar most likely just caused it to break back open.
If it is red and sore and you think it is getting infection, you might try to remove the bar and clean it and your belly button with peroxide to disinfect. Be sure to dry both well before replacing the bar (peroxide can make it worse if you don't dry it. To leave it wet will keep the wound from healing and may cause further infection).
You might also keep neosporin, or another triple antibiotic ointment on it for a couple of days. Just cover with a bandaid to prevent it from getting onto your clothes. You might also move it around a few times a day. Moving it prevents the wound from healing to the bar.
I have never heard of it getting bad and falling out. I guess it might if it were to get infected enough to get gangrene (but I hardly think you will have that problem).
I also have never heard of anyone having problems with body piercings that cause infertility. What a silly idea!
I'm sure you had care instructions when you had it done. treat it as if it were just pierced.
Wait a few months before changing bars again to
ensure it is fully healed. I dont see any reason you may have to take it out.
