There are various definitions. It could be from the clothes you wear (Aero, A&F, AE) to the way you act (snobby). Also, if you are known to get good grades, you are sometimes called a "prep". It's a stupid stereotype.

Its kinda a label...but it is more of a clothing style...like ambercrombie, american eagle, hollister..all the stores like that..

First off, "prep" isn't really even a liable word. It was made to describe a certain style of dress. It's not a type of person. It just defines how you dress. Being preppy is not being girly. This is just a stupid label people give to others. So my advice, just don't call people preps.

It is just one of the labels.. prep is really how you dress. You know, wearing Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle. Being prep is just being really girly.
