14/F : Well, its my first year at highschool and the homecoming dance is coming up in about 3 weeks. I don't really know if i want to go because i would rather go with a date then a group of friends. :/ sadly though, since i just started, i don't know too many people. it seems like everyone im interested in have girlfriends, and they're going with them. i dont know what i should do and how to be more confident of going to homecoming and maybe finding someone to go with . . . :(
also, my friend invited me to her "winter ball" which is in December, and im more likely to go to that as she goes to an all girl's school, so every guy there will be from another school so i would HAVE to meet new people. i think im going to go to this one, but what should i do about homecoming?

You could have just as much fun at this dance even if you show up with a bunch of friends rather than a date. I am sure that there are plenty of boys that are going stag simply because they were too nervous to ask a certain girl to go. You just might be depriving yourself of a very fun evening because you would have rather it gone a different way. What if something exciting awaits? You will never know if you dont go. You might just meet someone special there.
