(honestly i was soo overloaded on homework tonight & so im stressed out too, so thanks for all your help in advance!)

heres the problem:

Alright. Ok, so 12/20 children are currently on the elevator. So as of now, the elevator is 60% full (12/20 is also 6/10). So, you'll want to find out what amount of adults is 40%. So, take 4/10 times x/15. Cross multiply, and you'll come up with 60 = 10x. This means 6 = x, which should be the amount of adults on the elevator.

each adult is 4/3 of a child (20/15). this means that 12 children is 9 (12/9=4/3)adults so 6 (15-9) can still get on.
