it doesnt mean anything but that you may have been thinking about him when you went to bed.

A dream is exactly that, a dream. Dreams normally don't mean jack squat.

A dream is normally a spoof of your thoughs and/or conversations during the day.

Since your friend has been talking about this guy alot, it's caused you to dream about him. This doesn't mean anything, trust me it doesn't.

I get murdered in my dreams, I murder people in my dreams, I have sex with a guy with no legs in my dreams (Weird, I know), I live in AFRICA in my dreams.

None of that means anything, it doesn't mean you'll like him eventually. He's just been on your mind since your friend has been talking about him so much.

I think there is a very simple explanation. When something is on your mind or is, in your case, the topic of conversation a lot it tends to carry over into your dreams. You're NOT being disloyal to your friend just because he's in your dreams. It is just information overload. He's on your mind because your friend continuously talks about him to you.
Try not to feel guilty or weirded out by it. As long as you're not developing feelings for him outside of your sleep time, as you said you're not, I'm sure he'll disappear from your dreams soon enough!
