AGEHA answered Thursday October 6 2005, 5:48 pm: I'd bet there would be thousands of possible side effects, but you just have to hope that the side effects are better than the depression. [ AGEHA's advice column | Ask AGEHA A Question ]

It's there job to know the specific effects of each medication. The standard kind of anti-depressants are called SSRI's and can have side effects that effect your appetite, your weight, your sex drive, make you nauseas or cause headaches and many others. A pharmacist will also know the kinds of reactions with other medication you might ever need to take and can give you advice on coping with side effects of antidepressants.
The good news is, for most people, the side effects of SSRI's fade in about a month. [ Razhie's advice column | Ask Razhie A Question ]

Anyways, for teenagers and children, depression pills sometimes have the opposite effect. They will make you more depressed and wicked suicidal. But maybe you'll get lucky, ne?
Also, they can cause sexual side effects. You may not be able to orgasm anymore (happened to a friend of mine) or you might stop being able to reproduce. [ tasuki's advice column | Ask tasuki A Question ]

I use to take depression pills and sometimes they do have side affects on losing and gaining weight. Sometimes even drowsiness. I use to take Wellbutrin.
