Scoliosis Surgery
Has anyone on here had the surgery for scoliosis? if you have can you tell me what its like and how it went with you?

my friend had the surgery for it, and she was on pain killers and couldn't go swimming or do anything for a couple months. she got it done over the summer so she wouldn't miss school though. she has 2 poles on the sides of her spine to keep it straight, so she has really good posture. also she has scars, but they aren't that noticable. help i helped..

My sister had the surgery when she was 2 years old. She's 29 now.
She had to wear a back brace for about 10 years and the surgery stunted her growth, she's only 4 foot 6.
But that was almost 30 years ago, I'm sure there have been many advances in the surgery that would make it run more smoothly.
I do know that the surgery saved her life, she would have died without it. But she is very bitter about how short she is and had many psycholigical problems.
