Question Posted Friday September 30 2005, 10:59 pm
I know this might not make a lot of sense, but I'm on birth control and I can't seem to find the information packet that came with it. I was wondering..are there certain pills in the pack that have higher doses of ingredients that prevent pregnancy. For instance, is there a certain color set of pills that are more effective than the others? (By the way I'm on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo if that makes any difference.)
Additional info, added Friday September 30 2005, 10:59 pm: Also, I just got finished with my period not too long ago, so I'm half way through my first set of color pills (the white ones), so would it be safe enough for me to have sex? I'm sorry if this sounds stupid, but I was just making sure I understood this right.. Want to answer more questions in the Health & Fitness category? Maybe give some free advice about: Health? Mckick answered Monday October 3 2005, 1:45 pm: take the pill everyday(in the morning) don't forget to take them. The white ones at the end are placebo's. we your done with that packet just start your next one or take to your dr. about being on the patch. But if you forget to take your pill you could get pregnant. If you can't remember it's better to call your doctor. hope I helped [ Mckick's advice column | Ask Mckick A Question ]

All the pills are the same strength. They do have a few in there that are a different color (in some cases) that are basically placebos.
They are there to keep you taking them daily. If they just told you not to take them the few days you were having your period, you may forget to start again on the right day.
