makeup

Question Posted Sunday September 25 2005, 5:15 pm

I'm 13 and i wanna start wearing makeup. My parents would probably only let me wear light stuff.. so nothing too drastic..
Can you tell me good products to start off with and where to get them (not too expensive please)
I have medium-dark brown hair, brown eyes, oval shaped face, I'm sorta on the pale side, and i have slightly red cheeks from acne.
Thanks!!

Well let me tell you one thing. ALWAYS wear your shade. Don't go darker just to look more tan. I use Clinique's foundation. All of theres are great. Then Bonnebell has a great bronzer that has a light shimmer in it. i love it! and Clinique has some really pretty eyeshadows to and such. If your just starting to wear makeup, I wouldn't suggest getting into all that eyeliner and stuff =]
hope i helped!

Not to be mean but I don't think you should wear any makeup until your 17 because you'll get twice as much zits and pimples and plus your face will start to wrinkle sooner than people who don't wear any makeup. I'm almost 14 and I haven't put on any makeup except for lipgloss or lipstick.

Im 26, have many years of experimenting with makeup-this is my advice

forget foundation and eyeshadow for now, some translucent powder to take the shine and redness down a little would be good. go for a lip gloss thats not too sticky, like a lip balm with colour added. The best changes you can make are to make sure your eyebrows are well groomed and use mascara. I Always wear blush, but if your cheeks are naturally red-no need.

ok, just wear like light base, a really light lip gloss, and maybe some light brownish eye shadow. i started wearing makeup when i was like 10 or 11 and now im 14. so i have alot of experience. my cousins love it when i put makeup on them. cause they say im really good at it. i wouldn't doubt it though cause i've been doing it for so long. Hope i helped....

Most girls that wear make-up have there own beauty routine, you've just got to find what suits you!

If you wanna get rid of the red cheeks, use concealer. Don't plaster on foundation, it looks so fake and wearing too much of anything on your face can make spots worse.

As for your eyes. Try a bit of eyeliner. It doesn't suit everyone so make sure you take a good look at your self.
I don't think it suits me, as much as I wish it did, it doesn't. So make sure you don't go out with it on if it doesn't suit you.

Try eyeliner on your top and bottom lid.
Also try a mascara. If you already have long lashes blck mascara can make your lashes look very fake, which is what happens with me. If that's the case, use a transparent mascara which seperates and makes them look longer without making them go jet black and fake-looking.

Eyeshadow .. start with pale colors or just shimmers. Don't go right up to your brow untill you know what you're doing, it can make you look like a drag queen :P it just takes practice.

As for your lips, if you're going with light stuff then a clear gloss or a light pink tinted gloss would probably look great.

Anyway, hope I helped. If you need anything else, drop me a line.

Makeup comes with time...after practice you will be able to see what you like on yourself by a lot of testing!! Go to the drugstore (walgreens Cvs etc.) you dont need expensive stuff to look good haha. I love maybelline water proof mascera..if you have acne then you could try cover up(conceler)..I usually use revlon new complexion cover up. It has two different colors..so you are able to mix them up to match your skin tone. For rosy cheeks really any kind of blush works..you can try L'oreal brand ..I have fair skin as well and I use the Mocha Rose. Since you are just begining your makeup experiences all you need to do is practice and soon you will get the look you want!
Hope I was of help

cover girl foundation and powder are pretty good, and cheap. wet and wild makes really good eyeliners and eyeshadows. all these products work well and can be found at most stores like wal-mart, kmart, and target. hope this helps!
