An "indie film" is just short for "independent film." its just a 1st time movie for someone. so its a first movie for someone, its an indie film.

It's slang word for an independent film. An independent film (or indie film) is a film initially produced without financing or distribution from a major movie studio. They don't have high-priced actors/actresses in it. It kind of a type of film that a few people see but it isn't really "popular" or ever gets its way to the box office with the "high-priced" films.

Its an independent film.
I believe they are made by an individual rather than a big film company.
They are on a budget that isn't very large so they usually don't have big name actors in it unless they happen to really like the project and do it for the fun of it. :)
