Question Posted Thursday September 22 2005, 4:00 pm
f/14. October 1st is my boyfriend and my four month anniversary. for stupid reasons, we never celebrated other anniversaries. so this is our first. i wanna do something specail for him. any ideas will help. i don't care how cheesy or lame it seems. we like doing that kind of stuff for each other.
i'd prefer ideas that didn't involve using money because we both come from poverty stricken backgrounds so we decided not to do anything like that.
Another option... you could make him dinner!! If you're up to the challenge, you could try stuffed chicken breasts with potatoes of some sort with a fresh garden salad and sundaes for dessert! Ooooh, or LASAGNA!!
And if you wanna get creative, how 'bout you just go to the park?? Bring a blanket and some music! And pack a picnic lunch, which doesn't have to be difficult. It can consist of turkey sandwiches on slice bread, grapes, watermelon, pretzels, twinkies etc. And make shore you bring a crap load of bread to feed the duckies!!
Maybe rent a couple of movies, and spend the night together.. possibly baking cookies of some sort or making rice krispie treats? That'd be cute!
Another possible suggestion... you could always make him a poster or a photo album. You could deck it out with markers, photographs, quotes and so on.
What about coloring him picture from a coloring book?? (17, female here) I've done that with my boyfriends, and they absolutely loved it!! One of them slapped that puppy right up on his living room wall, when I suggest porofessional paintints instead. But no, he wanted mine. I just think that colors like that are cute and personalized gifts - completely appropriate and respectable.
How about making him some sort of little quilt with protective clear pockets that you can insert pictures into, and take them out to wash easily?
Just in case you were interested in preparing a meal for him, here is a page of a BUNCH of QUICK and EASY meals which can ALL be prepared in 30 minutes or LESS guaranteed!!! [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
This lady is my all time inspiration!!! I wouldn't suggest her if she wasn't fabulous!
*It's important to remember that it's the thought that counts with these things. Exspense doesn't measure love, so whatever you do I'm shore be ever so grateful!! Just be creative and have fun!! :D [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]

wish you luck!

Right-o...most things do cost money, so I don't know how far you can get, but i agree that baking something would be a nice treat. Make him cupcakes and put them in his locker (if you know his combination, which you can easily find out by looking over his shoulder while he's opening it) and make a little card. Sometimes the little things mean more.
hope i helped!

K2204 answered Thursday September 22 2005, 5:13 pm: you could make a homemade treat! maybe some cookies or brownies or a cake. And use some frosting to write like "Jessica and Mike" or what your names are. or "Jess <3's Mike" or something. that would be very cute!
Most of the ingredients you will probably have at home.
the one above ^ has a list of romantic foods, for valentines day, but even though it is for an anniversery, I think its just as romantic as valentines day!
karenR answered Thursday September 22 2005, 4:42 pm: Does he like sweets? I always made mine a cake. Doesn't have to be a big one. Something about having his very own cake and a fork he liked! Make it from scratch, there are a lot of good recipes and the ingredients are usually on hand. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
