Surprize party for best friend

I have two best friends. One (shelby) has her sweet sixteen coming up in december. She has planned on just spending time with her mom, but my other best friend ( christa) and i know thats not what she wants to do. Its just something that her mom made her feel guilty about. Well we decided we are going to throw her a surprize sleepover in my basement, somewhere around her birthday. My question is, I dont know exactly where to start. I also need ideas for what to do. This party is coming totally out of christa and my pocket (with a little help from out moms) so It cant be expensive. Any help would be appreciated!

if you want you can get ppl to donate money, another option is get a job, like baby sitting, i think it would help,then put all the money together and through a humongous party

wow, that is really sweet. just because you are doing it for her i know shell be so happy no matter how flashy it is or how much you spend. i know you can get really cheap decorations at say like the dollar store. just simple snacks, like chips,pop, cake(you could make a really special one yourself). you can just bring music from your own cd's and just have a girls night in. just make her feel special, give her a makeover or you know truth or dare, most of it really shouldnt cost you to much money. you can even make invitations on the computer. hope you have a blast.

i did this for one of my frends too. we planned it like a week before her b-day so she wouldnt suspect anything. i printed out invitations and gave them to the guests while she wasnt around. we bought chips and a cake and snacks. to get her there i said we were going to go to the movies. so that way we knew she wouldnt be late because we would be late for the movie. when she got to my house, we yelled surprise. but in your case, you could invite her to the movies but tell her you forgot something in the basemwnt and you need her to help you find it. then when you open the door, yell surprise. we stayed up watchin movies and listening to music.

Balloons, soda, movies (I like La Secunda Noche, Moon Child, Young Frankenstein, and the Urusei Yatsura movies but maybe you don't so go with what you like), chips, put some CDs on and dance like crazy, and...um...video games!! Like Harvest Moon. Yeah, that would be fun...

Try talking to her mom and see if you can get some help from her mom. find out shelby's fav things, like flowers, hand pick them , fav music or song , play them or pick one and have it play when she walks in. totally like make it shelbys day, hire some movies, eat lots of junk and party party party!!!!!!!

First off, make a list of people you want to have come. Then, ask around and see what things THEY would like to do. So its like all of you are coming up with ideas and then you and Christa are hosting the whole thing. Get snacks/food, movies, music, and some other things. Set a date and time and then also go from there.
