xXxpinky615xXx answered Tuesday September 20 2005, 6:29 pm: It depends. If you have -11+2+3=-6 or you could hae -11+5+10=4. So depending on the numbers, -++ could equal a negative or a positive, ++- could equal a negative or a positive. It depends on the numbers used. Okay heres a problem...
(-8)- +3
Okay you owe someone 8 bucks.
Okay so you would rewrite it like this and than SOLVE!
-8 + (-3)
so your answer would be -11.
Easy right?
and when you add two positive numbers it will be positive.
two negatives will equal a negative.
a negative and a two positives depends on which is the biggest
EX
-8 + 3 + -2
it would be -7 because 8 is the bigger number. So it takes its sign.
EX
8 + -3 + 2
it would be +9 because after all the math and stuff 8 was the biggest number so the answer takes its sign.
I'm sorry if its not clear as I was typing it I like oo gosh this pretty hard to understand
sbloemeke answered Tuesday September 20 2005, 6:15 pm: It varies. A sample is that -5+1+1=-3, yet -1+1+1=1. It can be either positive or negative.+ plus + will always be positive.A - plus - is always negative. A - plus a + plus a + will vary based on the number.
