(i am running for freshmen class president)
Hello,
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Ali. When I first found out that I was accepted into this school, I was very excited. Now, seeing that I have the chance to be an important part of it, I am going to try my hardest to fulfill that position. My main reason for running for class president is that it has always been my personal goal to become President of my class. If elected, I promise to help make wise decisions and to put this class as a whole before myself. There is also another thing I want to point out to you. I will not lie to you. I will go through with every promise I make. I refuse to make you empty promises. I hope that you all realize how important this position is to our school. We as a class need to elect a president who is wise, mature, and that will make good decisions. I feel that I fit that part.
Enough about me, let’s focus on you. We all worked hard to get into this school, right? By electing me, you’ll be able to let go of some of the concerns you've had about school issues and let me take care of them. I will make it my personal priority to address every reasonable concern.
Please realize that I am not in this competition to fool around and I am taking this seriously. Please, take me into consideration when it comes time to vote! If you are convinced that I would make a good Class President but you have friends that don’t think the same, please, try to make them understand that I am in this competition to make their freshmen year a memorable one. I want to become Class President because I love this school and I want to be as much help to it as I can. Thank you and please, Vote: Ali for President.
The thing about promises will bite you in the ass even if promised something you can in fact do sometimes you do not get to pull it off. Personal goals to become class president sounds vain and people will wonder what kind of selfish reason has she/he got? No need to point anything out for people they will get it from the speech. I got rid of two paragraphs that would have killed your chances with voters for being "all about me." or promisibg this and that.
GDR.
YOUR SPEECH
A lot of promises are being made in this election by people who simply cannot when elected fulfill them as half of them are lofty goals that are not reasonable or anywhere near able to accomplish. The promises most candidates are making to you will get shot down by teachers and principals once elected. Other candidates do not see the writing on the wall and nor do most voters. Be WISE! I warned you and was the one candidate that told the truth knowing what is in store for someone who is elected. Not all can stand tall and deliver but I certainly can and will.
I never waiver or change positions on an issue because of inside or outside pressure on me. I think with my head when faced with tough decisions and whaen adults try to drop things students want. I am a fighter. Furthermore, This is not a popularity contest. Face reality, you only get one shot at getting this right, when electing someone as president. Thank you and please, Vote: Ali for President.
