banned4life answered Saturday September 10 2005, 10:27 am: just put some lemon juice in a bottle and add a little water, spray it in wet hair and then lay in the sun, it is supposed to bring out your natural highlights [ banned4life's advice column | Ask banned4life A Question ]

I've heard that it does work but you will have to sit out in the sun forever for it to work.. and your wont be able to control which parts of your hair are highlighted because lemon/lime juice will soak in and spread. I like the Herbal Essences highlighting kit. The kit comes with the bottle and directions on how to apply it. You can probably do it yourself, with someone to just do the back for you. I suggest if you use this, that you separate your hair in sections to make sure that the highlights are shown evreywhere that you want them to be. If you really dont want to use that, then go to your local hair color sales store and ask them how to highlight with foil. There are many different ways that people do it. In my salon, ive heard that we do it a little different. For foil, all the supplies you really need are a highlighting brush, aluminum foil and a little bit of heat. I.E. sitting out in the sun for a couple of minutes or using a hairdryer.
Good luck. Feel free to let me know if i confused you in any way. [ BlackBeltxO's advice column | Ask BlackBeltxO A Question ]
