A CD burner is complete diffenet from a DVD burner. You need to have a DVD burner (not just a drive or program) to burn DVDs. When you buy a DVD burner, you will most likely get the software you need to use it. As well you need DVD-Rs to burn on, not CDs. They'll cost you about $1-$2 a piece on sale.

You actually have to have a DVD burner. Newer computers come with them standard, but you could probably go out and buy external DVD burners (just a hunch, I'm not sure if you really can buy them externally). Also, if you are going to burn DVDs you need to get blank DVDs not CDs. They are two different things. The DVDs cost a lot more.
