i think u should but do it in a tricky way like ask him wut hes doin one night and then if hes not doin anything you should say you arent doin anything either then casuslly say ask if he would like to do something with you. then suggest the movies.

Go ahead and ask him. Try casually at first, such as "Just friends". Then you may want to start dating type relationships. Or just go all out.
