- A person who is rich and unemployed. Must be in active contact with the media and other rich and unemployed peoplevirginia and maxwell, being good little socialites, kept their cocaine habbits a secret from the media.
- Someone who has money and doesn't work, instead devoting his/her life to being "socially active." Socialites go to parties, gather media attention, and essentially "work" at being popular. This often comes at the expense of any meaningful contribution to society or culture.
- Similar to Queen Bee.... We socialites often have money to spare and are always the life of the party. You'd never think of not inviting us, whether you know us well or not. We have everything, and we basically own you. When we enter a room, or the cafeteria for that matter, everyone stops to stare at us. Whether it's negative or positive comments, we own your minds, and we like the attention. You may say, "Oh I don't like her blah blah," but in actuality, you just wish you were us.
- A rich bitch who parties too damn much.
- A person who spends a lot of time visiting with and making ever-more friends and acquaintances. The socialite and his/her friends tend to be from "high society" and therefore usually have lots of money and an appreciation for forms of "high culture" such as the fine arts.

Socialite :

A socialite is a person (male or female, but more often used of a woman) of social prominence, considered to be an influential social figure. Their impact derives not so much from their artistic realisations (then they would be known primarily as author or performer, etc...) or from their official social stature (then they would be called politician, industrialist, etc...), as from their less-tangible ability to dominate the social scene and use personal charisma to achieve prominence.
