It's only effective if you take it correctly. If you can remember once a week to put a new patch on, then that's the one for you. Personally I've always taken the pill. I made it part of my bedtime routine so I wouldn't forget it. That's just me though. I tend to forget stuff unless I do it everyday. [ ncblondie's advice column | Ask ncblondie A Question ]

jussme answered Monday August 1 2005, 4:07 pm: I would choose the pill. I know the makers of the patch claim it stays on whether you're showering, swimming, or sweating, but I have found that to be false as I myself used to use it. It would come lose around the edges when I would get dressed and that made me feel less protected. For more reassurance as to the effectiveness of the birth control, I opted for the pill. It goes in and stays in! The only bad thing is that you have to remember to take it the same da, everyday! Something new I've been recently trying is the Nuva Ring. Its a ring you insert into the vagina once a month. No pills to remember, and no patches to worry about falling off! Its great! Hope this helps! [ jussme's advice column | Ask jussme A Question ]
