seeking help from a fellow advice columnist

Question Posted Sunday July 17 2005, 3:08 pm

Earlier today I was felting a slipper. As you're supposed to do, I shrunk it in the wash so it would turn to felt. But it shrunk too much. It was too narrow. I'm really sad and frustrated because I spent a month knitting this gargantuan slipper and it doesn't fit! Is there any way I oould possibly make it wider? I'll rate 5's for any reasonable answer somebody please help me!!!

Sometimes I help my grandma with felting slippers, and when they shrink too much, we usually just try to stretch them out as much as possible. If it's really small, that probably won't work, but if it's just a bit too small, it will. Hope this helps.

eay answer to this one....squeeze it onto your foot and get into a hot bath..... lay as long as you can and then get dried.... but leave slipper on. Watch telly etc but keep slipper on... after a day or two take slipper off. it should now be dry and fashioned to your foot... No problem
