Built up anger I've confided a lot in total strangers lately. On this i mean. I'm happy with that it makes me feel ssecure that it cant come back on me. Any how friends of the realm. I have found myself incredibly angry these last few years. Im 16 years old and i am probably sufering from something beyond me. I jus want to know. How can i control this anger or what ways are there too redirect it. I'm only concerned because i'm starting to hit things like punch walls and anything close to hand; alll the time!! And can anyone possibly give any clues as to what this could be. All help greatly appreciated.

well you COULD need anger managment, or counseling, or you might have an anger problem. here are a few ways to let out your anger HEALTHILY:
it REALLY works if you run around your house, as fast as you can, as many times as you can, until you are ready to die and you just collapse. lay there until you're breathing normally again.
take a longggg, soothing, bubble bath. (NO, this is not JUST for girls)
do something you LOVEEE... like playing a video game, watching tv, etc.
since you're 16, you can take a ride around the block or somewhere to keep your mind off of it.
hope i helped! ]
You really need to think about whats been going on. Also, a positive outlet, like running to angry music helps get out all emotions. Hope it helps. ]
It's probably just hormones or just stuff happening that makes you mad in everyday life. You just need to learn how to control your anger. Anytime you get angry ; just first take a deep breath and calm yourself down, and if you don't feel like you're calming down walk away from the thing that's making you mad and just walk/run it off somewhere. And hitting your walls and stuff isn't good, and you can hurt your hands...so try hitting a pillow. Or better yet, focus onto something maybe buy a punching bag or try a contact sport to let out some of the anger. But if you still feel like you're really angry, you might need to go to this site:

I'm not saying you need anger management, but I'm just saying if all else fails, you MIGHT need it. =/ but this site'll tell you how to control it and such. I hope I helped!!

When you feel the anger building...get up and walk away. Go walk, run do something else.
It could be hormones, some forms of depression can cause mood swings. I would suggest getting with your doctor and letting them know what you're going through. They can help if it gets to bad. :) ]
Sounds pretty normal. It is probably just hormones, or everyday life.
Try channelling your anger into physical activity. Get a punching bag, or learn martial arts, or play football. Some kind of contact sport.
Or take it out on lil virtual people. There is nothing like mowing down a screen full of annoying pests. ]
well..... i think itz just hormonez!! u know how those can b. i don't think u need to worry about it right now but if it getz any worse, then myb you should talk to someone about it.......hope it helpz....... <333 -carter- ]
Hi,
I think the first step of controlling anger is recognising you have the problem in the first place ...and you've done that.Good stuff! I found this website on the subject.I hope it helps, good luck.

I'm not really sure what your anger could be(i would suggest seeing a therapist or phychatrist if you really want to know). i know i get really angry sometimes like just in generally its that "mad at the world" kind of anger and stuff, and what helps me is just laying on my bed with NIRVANA turned up loud. i would suggest buying this CD, its like a "best of" CD, and its black with silver letters that say NIRVANA on the cover. Atreyu is also very good. All i do is put one of these CDs in and just lay on my bed with my eyes closes listening to the music, and it really helps me.
i hope this helps you and you end up less angry. ♥ ]
You could try turning your negative energy and thoughts into something more positive, by joining a club or a group of people that have the same interests as you that are active in your community. (volunteering and getting involved)
Another possibility is, whenever you feel like you're getting really angry just hold your breathe, count to 10, and think about what you are doing. ]
