i've seen questions on here & people say that they "cut". this might be a stupid question, but o well...what does "cutting" mean?

Its exactly what rainbow just said. They do it on their wrists most of the time, but its REALLY stupid so don't do it. There is no point whatsoever in doing it and the people who do it are usually low on self esteem.

It basically means that they use a knife, blade, glass or other sharp object to cut their skin. It's the most common form of self harm.
