OK I'm probably overreacting, but I've got my grade 7 piano exam tomorrow and I'm sooooo nervous! I don't know why, I mean I've done 6 before and I've done OK, but I really don't feel ready for this one! Can anyone suggest anything to calm me down before the exam, or anything that will make sure my fingers don't shake during the exam?? I need answers fast because it's TOMORROW!! ARGH!

Thats really good. I've been playing piano for 5 years going on 6 so i know how you get neverous before exams and recitals. the only advice i can give to you is to be practice a lot so you'll be more confident that you'll do well. Also try breathing in and out slowly a few times and have a glass of water before you take your exams - that always helps me =) Good luck on your exam! Hope i helped.
MHScutie87 answered Friday July 8 2005, 7:27 pm: hey what you need to do is practice for incriments of about 30 minutes and then take about a 10 minute break because you don't want to work yourself too hard! also get a good night sleep of at least 8 hours! it will be really good for you. in addition, you should eat a good breakfast so you feel awake and ready.
MrBrightside answered Friday July 8 2005, 6:32 pm: Just start practicing throughout the day and make sure that you feel confident with everything.Once you build up your confidence and you're absolutely positive that you know what you're doing and you can do it well then you shouldn't feel so tense. dancergirl678 answered Friday July 8 2005, 6:00 pm: the best thing to do is to settle down, and relax. don't go into this exam with the mind set of *omg i think im gonna do horrible! im not ready!* the best thing to think is *i'm giving it my all, and doing the best i can. if i mess up, o well, i tried my hardest and next time i'll work harder* [ dancergirl678's advice column | Ask dancergirl678 A Question ]
X_Amanda_X answered Friday July 8 2005, 5:28 pm: Relax! Go to a quiet place and talk positivly to yourself. Say things like "I will do great on the piano exam" "I'm going to pass!" That will take your mind off messing up. After relaxing a little bit, practice. Especially if you don't feel ready. Get down whatever you need to know for the exam.
